MegaDoor

Aluminium. Internal. Proven.

The heart of every CETA sliding gate is the MegaDoor (MGD) running rail. Produced almost unchanged for over 30 years, it has set the standard in sliding gate construction then and now. The special rail geometry allows gates to be built without an upper guide rail. The internal toothed rack not only improves aesthetics — it’s also better protected and dramatically simplifies installation.

Features

One geometry, that simplifies everything.

Six features that have made the MGD running rail the industry standard for three decades — from the internal toothed rack to corrosion-resistant aluminium.

01

Aluminium construction

Lightweight material, high load capacity — gates install without a crane.

02

Internal toothed rack

Protected inside the rail profile — less wear, more safety.

03

No upper guide rail

The special geometry allows cantilever gates without any additional upper guide rail.

04

Simplified installation

Constant tooth engagement over the full gate length — no fiddly adjustments needed.

05

Corrosion-resistant

Aluminium withstands weather and road salt — reliable over decades of service.

06

30 years proven

Thousands of installations over more than three decades — the standard that endures.

In detail

One rail.
Many benefits.

The aluminium MGD running rail is the proven standard for cantilever sliding gates — with an internal toothed rack, perfectly matched drive consoles, and three decades of real-world experience as its foundation.

  • Protected toothed rack

The internal toothed rack sits protected inside the profile — no dirt, no weathering wear.

  • Optimal tooth engagement

Rail geometry and drive are perfectly matched — consistent spacing across the full length.

  • Complete drive consoles

We offer matching consoles for all common drives — no separate foundation mounting required.

  • Universal aluminium base

MegaDoor forms the foundation for design gates, industrial gates and all CETA sliding gate variants.

In detail

Rail principle & variants.

How the MGD geometry works — and which rail variant suits which gate construction.

01 · Rail principle

The MegaDoor geometry

The MGD rail isn’t an ordinary profile. Its special geometry houses the toothed rack internally and enables cantilever sliding gates without an upper guide rail. The result: less visible mechanics, less wear, more design freedom.

Internal toothed rack

The rack is fully integrated inside the rail profile. The drive engages from below, with constant engagement over the full gate length — no fiddly adjustments.

Weather & dirt protection

Inside the profile, the rack stays protected from precipitation, road salt and coarse dirt — a decisive advantage for longevity.

Longevity note

Periodic rail cleaning by your CETA partner preserves running performance for decades.

02 · Variants & construction

MGD 1 and MGD 3 — your choice

The MegaDoor family includes two rail variants chosen by construction type and joining method. Both share the same internal rack geometry — the right choice depends on your gate frame.

The construction decides

For bolted steel constructions, MGD 1 is the right choice. For welded aluminium constructions we recommend MGD 3. Both variants are available from stock.

MGD 1 for steel, MGD 3 for aluminium

The MGD 1 bolts to a steel frame, the MGD 3 welds directly to aluminium profiles — both methods produce permanently stable connections.

Selection note

If you’re unsure which variant suits your construction, our technicians are happy to advise individually.

Answers about rail variants, installation, drive integration and the advantages of aluminium construction.

Ask a question
Do you also sell rails and components to other companies?
Yes. We supply all the components needed for a sliding gate — from the MGD running rail to drives and complete ready-built gates.
Which MGD rail should I use?
For gates with steel construction we recommend the MGD-1 rail (bolted). The MGD-3 rail is ideal for aluminium constructions and welding.
Why does the internal toothed rack simplify installation?
The distance between the drive pinion and the rack is constant and perfectly set over the entire gate length. We also offer drive consoles for all common drives — the drive doesn’t need to be bolted separately to a foundation.
What’s the advantage of aluminium rails?
Aluminium is very light — entire gates can be installed without a crane. The material also delivers excellent corrosion resistance and long service life.
