2. General notes on data processing
We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. Processing takes place only with your consent or where permitted by law under Art. 6 GDPR.
3. Website hosting & log files
Each time our website is accessed, our web server automatically records the following technical information in so-called log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of the request
- Requested URL and HTTP status code
- Browser identifier (user-agent) and operating system
- Referrer URL (if transmitted)
This data is used solely to maintain the security (detection and defence against attacks) and stable operation of the website. The data is not merged with other data sources. Log files are automatically deleted after a maximum of 14 days.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in secure website operation.
4. Cookies and local storage
This website does not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. Only the following technically necessary items are stored locally in your browser:
cera_lang_scroll (session storage)
Briefly stores your scroll position so you return to the same place after switching language. Automatically cleared when you close the tab.
ceta_admin_sid (cookie — administrators only)
Set only when an authorised staff member logs into the internal editorial area. Regular visitors will never receive this cookie.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — technically necessary functionality.
5. Fonts
We use the “Inter” font. The font files are hosted exclusively on our own server and delivered directly from there. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other external font provider; data from your browser does not leave our domain.
6. Embedded Google Maps
On our contact page we display an embedded Google Maps map so you can easily find our location. When you visit the contact page, technical connection data (in particular your IP address and browser information) is transmitted to Google and may be transferred to the USA.
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland
Parent company: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — interest in providing a user-friendly way of finding our address. If you don't want this data transfer, simply don't open our contact page; use our phone number or email address instead.
7. Contact
When you contact us by phone or email, the data you provide (e.g. name, email, phone, enquiry) is stored to process your request and any follow-up questions. We do not share this data with third parties and delete it as soon as the purpose has been fulfilled and no statutory retention period applies (typically 6 months; for contract-relevant matters 7 years under Austrian commercial and tax law).
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or (f) GDPR (responding to your enquiry).
8. Social media
Our footer contains links to our profiles on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. These are plain HTML links — no data is transmitted to those platforms until you actively click a link. Once on those platforms, their operators are responsible for their own data processing.
9. Your rights as a data subject
Under the GDPR you have extensive rights. You can exercise them at any time by emailing office@ceta.at:
- Access to the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of incorrect data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of your data, unless a retention obligation applies (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdraw any given consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)

10. Data security
We use the HTTPS (SSL/TLS) protocol to protect data transmitted between your browser and our server against unauthorised access. You can recognise active protection by the padlock icon in your browser's address bar and the https:// prefix in the URL.
11. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy if the legal situation, the functions of our website, or the data we process change. The current version is always available at this URL.
